Glass flowers

Alongside painting and photography, even the thousand-year-old art of glass has often focused its interest on the theme of flowers. In particular, the glass masters of Murano, who throughout the course of the twentieth century have produced works of extraordinary charm inspired by the shapes of flowers and plants, declined according to the styles of Liberty, Art Deco and then with an experimental vein attentive to the experiences of artistic avant-gardes.
The collection of Enrico Bersellini, started in the seventies of the twentieth century, collects an important sampling of the production of the main Murano artisans of the twentieth century, which combines the results of the most recent research in the field of glass art, constituting a significant place of comparison between traditional forms and experiments of our days. The collection includes important pieces of Ercole Barovier, Napoleone Martinuzzi, Toni Zuccheri and many others, documenting the varied technical repertoire used in Murano glass art, from blown glass, solid glass and lampwork.
Among the authors of the works, able to combine decorative impact and emblematic technical mastery, the names of some of the major artists and designers who worked in Murano in historical furnaces such as Venini, Zecchin-Martinuzzi, Barovier & Toso, Pauly & C., Salviati, but also artists who created unique pieces like Franca Petroli, Maria Grazia Rosin and Silvia Levenson.
