From Saturday 24 March to 17 June, visit the art exhibition “Urpflanze” of Giovanni Frangi in Villa Carlotta, a special exhibition between art and nature.
The relationship with nature has always been the core of the creative work of Giovanni Frangi (Milan, 1959), one of the most important figures in the contemporary Italian art scene. The wild nature that is enclosed in the woods, in the mountains, in the great rivers, is the central element of the works with which it debuts at the Venice Biennale and which is crowned in the great exhibition at the Villa Panza in Varese in 2004. Fundamental is also nature shaped by the intervention of man, as in the case of the series of works dedicated to the Botanic Garden of Pasadena (2008) or the Alles ist Blatt cycle, the great exhibition with which in 2014 the new greenhouses and the Garden of the Biodiversity of the Botanical Garden of Padua. With the exhibition “Urpflanze”, specifically designed for Villa Carlotta, Giovanni Frangi investigates the relationship between interior and exterior, which is the unique feature of this place, involving both the rooms of the villa, and the park that surrounds it.
